What does being at home for Christmas conjure up for you? Could it be waking up in the room you used to have as a child? Delicious cooking smells rising from the kitchen as your mum labours to get an impossibly huge turkey ready in time for lunch. Cards along the mantelpiece. A tree covered in tinsel and baubles. Holly berries. Your dad snoring in an armchair. Presents. Games. Bad jokes. It’s corny, but you wouldn’t miss being home for Christmas for the world.

For the young people we come across, people like Alice, Christmas couldn’t be more opposite. Home is a different friend’s sofa every night. When the favours run out, they sleep in cars, on buses, in parks and wander the streets by day. There is no gift. No Christmas lunch. No smiles and laughter.

A Centrepoint Christmas and hope for the future

We will be looking after 779 homeless young people every day at Centrepoint over the Christmas period. We’ll give them a safe place to stay with a warm bed and good, nutritious food. But we won’t stop there. We’ll also work with them to help them tackle their problems and build a better life in the long term. Your donation is vital to help us do this.

We want them to enjoy a proper, happy Christmas at Centrepoint (perhaps their first). We’d like them to have chance to smile and relax a little. There will be celebrations, decorations, a Christmas meal, even a little gift. But most of all we look forward to the time when the home for Christmas they find themselves in is their own.

Your donation will help Centrepoint give a home for Christmas – including Christmas dinner and a warm, safe place to stay – for 779 homeless young people over the festive period.
